Artist, or maybe you didn't see that as an obstacle. How do you see... um?

Yo nunca lo vi como obstáculo ni como... tampoco como algún instrumento
I never saw it as an obstacle or as... neither as a tool

o algún... ni co', ni como algo que yo pudiera usar para mi beneficio,

ni que me fuera a perjudicar.
or that was going to harm me.

Yo siempre, yo siempre pienso que lo que más vale es nada más ser tú mismo y...

Y nunca realmente tuve ningún problema en ese aspecto.

en, en el ambiente, verdad, que están haciendo cosas de calidad.

Sí me da mucho gusto. Pero realmente no hay mucho. No hay suficiente, definitivamente.
I do feel glad. But truly there are not many. There are not enough, definitely.

Y pues de que ellos se acercaron a ti y tú a ellos. Eso es, eso fue creo que algo mágico.
And well the fact that they got close to you and you to them. I believe that is, that was something magic.

La relación entre los Ramones y yo se pudo desarrollar porque, porque trabajamos bien juntos,

porque yo desde un principio les demostré lo que yo podía hacer por ellos.
because from the very beginning I showed them what I could do for them.

Y ellos estuvieron de acuerdo, a ellos les gustó.

Yo fui la primera gente, el primer individuo en trabajar, que trabajó para ellos
I was the first person, the first guy working, who worked with them

y hice absolutamente de todo. Lo que se requería en ese momento. Si yo lo podía hacer, yo lo hacía.
and I did absolutely everything. I did what was required at that moment. If I could do it, I did it.

The first thing that you need in a band when you're going to play at any place is to load the equipment, isn't it?

Que vamos a diseñar un, un anuncio para el periódico, yo hacía eso.
We are going to design a, an add for a newspaper, I did that.

Eh... la primera vez que iban a venir algunos críticos importantes a verlos a CBGB's,
Eh... the first time that some important critics were coming to see them to CBGC's,

¿Qué vamos a hacer con las luces? Déjame hacer algo con las luces, yo empezaba a hacer las luces.
What are we going to do with the lights? Let me do something with the lights, I started to do something with the lights.

Cuando decidimos empezar a vender camisetas, yo imprimía las camisetas y vendía las camisetas.
When we decided to start selling t-shirts, I used to print the t-shirts and sell the t-shirts.
