Inlet Tower Hotel & Suites: Traveler Reviews

xxx

THe bad - the location is a bit away from most anything else that a toursit would do in anchorage. not many places to eat close by, btu a great grocery store across the street. The lobby was very crowded with a tour group and airline employees in the morning, which made checkout a bit tough.I stayed at the Inlet Tower for two nights on a long weekend in Anchorage and couldn't have been more pleased.and seems well managed. the front desk person was friendly an check-in was a breeze. The windows aren't at all drafty, but the walls are a little thin so you will hear some traffic noise and a surprising amount of airport noise. This hotel also has a coin laundry in the basement, which came in handy. and offers half-day rates if you want to extend your check-out to 5pm (very handy if you are catching a red-eye flight). The only real gripes I had were the elevators, which are maddeningly slow, and the housekeeper, who, for some reason, didn't replenish my towels. Also, when I first arrived in the room, the alarm clock was going off.
The hotel is used by China Airlines as their crew lay-over hotel. The lobby is currently undergoing reconstruction . The free airport pick-up and drop off worked well on the three occasions I used it. the upper floors have views, especially the ones overlooking Cook Inlet. There appears to be staff shortages, and things run noticably smoother when the house manager is on duty. When he is not around, things can be a bit ragged.

We ended up staying at this hotel more nights than originally planned due to flight problems. At the time we stayed the hotel was undergoing some renovation which seemed to be finishing just as we left.

I had a similar experience to Mrsosci. We arrived in Anchorage by train. I called Inlet Towers 3 times to get the shuttle, yet it never arrived. We took a cab and it let us off at a side entrance. We had to lug our suitcases up many steps into the crowded, filthy lobby. The front desk staff didn't seem to care that we'd had to take a cab.Our room was clean and large, but very stark. I would not recommend this at all. Stay at the Voyager instead. Check out my review there.

Our flight did not arrive until 1:30am so we were purely looking for a decent place to sleep for a few hours before making our way up north to Denali. Our room was nothing to brag about. The mattresses were fairly hard, and the room was quite stuffy and just didn't feel that fresh. This was definitely not the worse place to stay, but not the best by far as well.

Stayed here as part of our land trip to Alaska. Upon arrival waited over an hour to be picked up at airport. Luggage dumped in parking lot for us to carry up the steps. Lobby is not clean and very worn. Long line for check in taking over 1/2 hour. Finally sent to room which was also in the well worn category. There is a complimentary shuttle which is a big joke. Everytime we wanted to go downtown (about a 20 min walk) the shuttle was busy. We were going to walk Tony Knowles trail and asked for directions at desk. They promised pick up at end of our walk and even wrote the number down. After walking the length of trial we called. They were unable to come. Again upon arrival from train part of trip they were no able to come for us. Told us to catch a cab. Very poor service. There is an excellent resturant inside the hotel. Food very good and wonderful service. The windows only open about 6 inches (to eliminate jumping?) and when open the breeze made a weird howling noise from the hallway. On our last night, the elevator broke down so only one elevator for the entire hotel.

What a nightmare. Our group booked 4 single rooms. Two of us were assigned rooms already occupied by other guests. Second room assigned was filthy. In third room I was assigned someone walked in on me.No ramp to use to wheel your luggage in.This is an old apartment building converted in to a hotel.Beds were old, AC did not work, overall property was very dirty and run down(憔悴、沮喪或是精疲力竭的). would never stay at this hotel again...I'd rather camp in the rain.

The people really are so helpful with directions or restaurant suggestions. My GPS did not work well in Fairbanks and I had to flag down many a passing vehicle. Everyone stopped to help! You don't find that in the bay area.We stayed at the Inlet Tower and Suites in a very clean, yet somewhat austire room, I am from the bay area, so it was not surprising to spend $25 to $35 apiece for an incrediable meal. By the way, in the bay area, portions are very petite - NOT IN ALASKA- you order a filet mignon and you get a piece of perfectly cooked meat bigger than your hand - do not order too many appetizers. This was true at every place we ate. The deli behind the hotel is a nice convenience, however the walk to downtown a little tedious at times (although the hotel did offer to take and fetch me from town if needed, which although I did not take them up on this, did appreciate). The deli behind the hotel is a nice convenience, however the walk to downtown a little tedious at times (although the hotel did offer to take and fetch me from town if needed, which although I did not take them up on this, did appreciate). The only downside was the high phone bill presented on departure, I really felt that I was ripped off in this respect.

I'm a fool. I expected after 15 years absence from America that making an international phone call wouldn't cost the world, but how wrong I was. For a 10 Minute call to Germany, I paid $123.94. I was furious.I grilled the staff and the manager, but they reminded me that I was the idiot here.Hotels like this are disgusting. The same call from Germany to Alaska would have costed less than 50 cents. It's rip-offs like this that keep me from coming back. Rude staff turned me off. My main issue was with the evening desk staff. Checking in both times on a Friday evening, the clerk was mean, edgy, and downright rude.

discreet hotel,Not great not bad,Shuttle to airport was handy as was grocery store on corner but the main problem was the walk to most shops/visitor center was too LONG.It was a little rough during their remodel - but it is great now. I was at first a little concerned because I knew of no one that had stayed there and it was a couple blocks outside of what was considered the downtown area. It has moody, cool-looking lobby, but the rooms are much less spiffy. The bathroom, in particular, was small and old fashioned. The room seemed tired, too. Air conditioning would be nice at this price!

My husband and I stayed here at the tail end of our two week Alaskan adventure in celebration of our 20th wedding anniversay. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement.the wallpaper in our bathroom was peeling. This hotel was no where near what we are accustomed to.
