The Ahwahnee: Críticas -2

xx

This hotel was originally created for people of means to enjoy the park in an atmosphere-ambiente of exclusive luxury. Today, I think two kinds of people stay at the Ahwahnee: those on a fixed-arreglado budget-presupuesto who are splurging and those who have the means to routinely-tienen los medios de rutinariamente pay almost 500 dollars a night. Both groups will still be looking for an exclusive luxury experience (which is the way the place is marketed-es comercializado), yet either group is sure to be disappointed by the Ahwahnee experience.-todavía o grupo es seguro que te decepcionará por la experiencia de Ahwahnee.

Like so many other reviewers, I love Yosemite, visit at least once a year, and had wanted-querido to stay at the Ahwanhee for many years. I finally took the plunge and 'splurged' over the Christmas holiday. My husband and I booked-reservamos one night in the Ahwahnee (we stayed in a cottage-cabaña) and Christmas day dinner.

Overall-En general,, we were extremely dissatisfied-nos quedamos extremadamente dessatisfechos with the experience because we expected a level of quality and service for the price point that we just didn't get.

Problem #1: Service was hit and miss. I've had-he tenido customer service that equaled and often surpasses-a menudo supera the staff at the Ahwahnee at hotels that are far less expensive. I've also had much better at other expensive hotels. Front desk staff were unenthusiastic and not terribly helpful or welcoming. My husband and I were awakene-nos despertaban d by loud snow shoveling directly outside our cottage in the morning when we wanted to sleep in.

Problem #2: Quality of the food was mediocre at best-.en el mejor We ate in the hotel bar and in the dining room. I have had much better fare here in the SF bay area for far less money. We paid over 100 dollars a head for a dinner that I didn't even-ni siquiera eat most of - it was so bad

Problem #3: Amenities in our room were sub par. The TV didn't work (some problem getting service in the valley-valle) but there was no DVD player or other ways to watch TV. Why bother having it there?-¿Por qué nos molestó tener que allí? I couldn't-No pude take a hot shower when I wanted to after a day out in the cold snow-la nieve frío. Because we had-tuvimos a dinner reservation, I had to take a lukewarm-tibia shower to make it to dinner on time. Space heater provided-disponible didn't work. Bath towels were crunchy, not soft and fluffy-esponjosas-spongy.

I think that the park concessionaire, DNC, is banking on the location of the hotel and the romance of its history to draw in the guests, not reputation or customer loyalty. Make no mistake, the hotel itself-el hotel en sí, common areas and its location are beautiful. Being part of the history is a great feeling- una gran sensación, but the amenities and service just don't hit the mark. If I am going to splurge-indulge-derrochar, I want to come away feeling like it was worth every penny. I don't care if the hotel is in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world.

I'm not so incensed by the level of mediocrity of the things I mentioned above, but by the fact that DNC has the balls to continue charging this kind of money for people to stay and eat there. I hope-Me espero que that if enough people start to complain-protestar , quejar and take the time to get the word out that they will be forced to-les será obligado reconsider the services they are offering and either improve-mejorar them dramatically to fit the price tag or reduce their exorbitant-desorbitados rates.

Finally, a word of advice: since anyone can enter the hotel and make use of the common areas (another factor that impacts ones experience as a guest and makes the place feel less exclusive) I would recommend staying and eating elsewhere in the park for much cheaper and visiting the hotel as a day guest.

The Hotel has lots of character-carácter and is proud of-está orgulloso de it's heritage -patrimonio without being smug-presumido. The hotel has cavernous like reception and dining rooms that are still warm- cálido and have a great ambience.

Our room was spacious-espaciosa with modern facilities-instalaciones however the decor was a little dated and the bathroom was on the small size. The hotel's facilities were good and included-está incluido a small shop, a restaurant, bar which also served- se sirve bar food. The breakfast menu was large but excellent quality.

You won't be disappointed-Te no será decepcionado with the comfort and location of this hotel however-sin embargo prices are steep-elevados.

Property was clean and well maintained-bien mantenido. King-matrimonio room was clean and well appointed-bien equipada. Bath recently remolded. Bed soft-blanda but comfortable. Food was good but overpriced. Staff friendliness was hit and miss( hit and miss-al azar). Turndown service was nice touch. Overall, best choice for staying inside park.
hit-and-miss:有時擊中有時失手的;有時成功有時不成功的
hit-or-miss:偶然做出的;漫不經心的;容易出錯的;隨意的
turndown service. In hotels, the practice of folding back the blanket and sheet of the bed in the evening, sometimes accompanied by putting a mint on the pillow or a cordial on the night stand.

The Ahwahnee is a hotel that has a storied past, fascinating- fantásticos historical items, and an unparalleled-sin igual location. It was the perfect site for our family vacation with my parents and our 7 month old daughter to explore the park.

All old hotels have endearing quirks, and the Ahwahnee is no exception. The hot water takes a little while-se tarda un poco in the bathroom and the elevator is a little small, but the tradeoff-compensacion includes beautiful common rooms and huge fireplaces.

The rooms and bathrooms are on the small side. The complimentary coffee and tea are a nice touch.

Would I come here again? Probably. The location is great-genial and is the nicest hotel in the park, saving me an hour drive every day-ahorrándome tener que una hora en coche cada día. . The Yosemite Lodge is more basic, and definitely another choice.

I hesitate-dudé because the Ahwahnee is quite-bastante expensive. Furthermore-ademas, the Dining options are limited and are also very, very expensive. Yes, people come to Ahwahnee for the history and the location so they will pay the price. Aside from-aparte de the location, the high prices do not convey exceptional value.

It is a nice hotel in a spectacular location and one that is always booked-uno que está siempre lleno,, so it is unlikely much change will occur.

We stayed here for 1 night in August, while-mientras visiting California from the UK. Loved California but our 2 days in Yosemite were to some extent ruined-estaban a algunos punto arruinó by our stay at the Ahwahnee.

We payed almost $500 (room only, breakfast not included in price) for 1 room for 1 night. This is by a long long way, the worst- el peor hotel value hotel we have ever stayed at-nos hemos alojado nunca..

What words can I use to describe our room ?? Dirty, tired, shabby-viejo, en mal estado, dated. The carpets were thinning and it looked like it hadn't been decorated in 10 years-parecía como si no lo hubieran decorado en 10 años. .
